Two Words: Attitude Index

The good news is that the it's been a consistent trend since the inception of the I3 (International Inspiration Index) that the further into the future we look, the more optimistic we tend to be. The bad news is we're going through a very difficult period.

Two Words: Attitude Presentation

Doing some work on doing my presentation, "What's In It For Me?" for more school districts and other public sector organizations. It's an upbeat, interactive two or three hour presentation. Recently, I did it for the Cascade School District and the Whitehall School District (both in Montana). It went over real well. I'm sending a copy of the presentation to someone who wants to forward it to other superintendents.

I figured I'd post it on line for all to see. (Of course, it doesn't make a lot of sense without me delivering it -- but I hope you enjoy.)

Two Words: Newspaper Column

I'm very proud of this weeks column. I've been re-reading Louise Hay's book, "You Can Heal Your Life" and it really inspired me. The post can be found here: http://www.times-standard.com/lifestyle/ci_13029597?source=rss

Two Words: Client Connection

I am trying to put together an engagement in Montana for a small school district. (I think Montana is beautiful!) My contact just returned my call (that unto itself making her an exceptional person in my eyes) because she wants a little more information to share with her board. But the important thing was the nice connection we had over the phone. She's warm, while being professional, very friendly, and with a great sense of humor. Sometimes, we (or at least I) forget that work is about getting to connect with nice and good people in many places.

 This moment's attitude: Grateful.

Two Words: Amazing Attitude

My "second mom," has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I just bumped into her in town and we took some time to talk. Of course, the first thing I asked her was, "How are you doing?"

"Fine. I'm doing great. I'm really healthy. I just have cancer."

She smiled and gave me a huge hug.

I should be so positive if it ever happens to me.

Scott “Q” Marcus, founder, publisher, and editor of Two Words magazine has a three-decade career in the media as a DJ, talk show host, Music Director, Program Director, Operations Director and later: sales manager, station manager, and general manager of various radio and TV stations. He also produces marketing seminars at www.HumboldtMarketingSeminar.com and is a sales and marketing consultant for the Northcoast Small Business Development Center.

Two Words magazine is associated with http://www.LongDistanceMarketing.com, his blog about all things marketing. The magazine is a creative, literary piece designed to uplift and inspire its readers. It is comprised of several articles, written by various people. Each issue is dedicated to a two-word theme (hence the clever title, huh?) If you would like to submit to Two Words magazine, please visit www.TwoWordsMagazine.com and read the submission standards.

Scott Q's Background:
In 1994, Scott lost 70 pounds and became a THINspirational Speaker (and recovering perfectionist). He now helps individuals and organizations overcome procrastination and perfectionism to be happier, healthier, and more productive. He is the past president of the Northern California chapter of the National Speakers Association, a Weight Watchers Diamond Leader, and a syndicated columnist with three books (at www.CompletelyInspired.com )

His presentations are described as “a cross between Business 101, Group Therapy and a Southern Revival.” He strongly suggests that in order to get the most of his presentation, you put your left-brain on hold.
Finally, although he has lost a great deal of weight and is a Weight Watchers leader, he is not a “food cop.” He will not watch what you eat if you do not watch what he eats. (Although he might be persuaded to do a seminar in your city in exchange for Chocolate or French Fries.)
